Getting Started

Welcome to SharkBetX. This guide walks you through setting up your account and placing your first bet.

What You Need

• A web3 wallet (e.g. MetaMask or Rabby) on Polygon Mainnet
• USDC on Polygon for betting
• A small amount of POL (formerly MATIC) for gas fees

New to crypto?

You can buy USDC on an exchange like Coinbase or Binance and send it to your Polygon wallet. Most exchanges support direct withdrawals to Polygon.

Choosing Your Trading Mode

Sharkbetting Exchange offers two ways to trade:

Exchange (Recommended)

The main trading interface. Connect your wallet, deposit USDC into the vault, and start betting. Settlement is fully automatic — your balance updates when markets resolve.

Best for: most users, straightforward experience.

Poly Direct

A self-custodial alternative. Your funds stay in your own Safe wallet — you sign every order directly in MetaMask. You manage your own positions, including claiming settled outcomes.

Best for: experienced crypto users who prefer full control.

Setting Up — Exchange Mode

1. Go to the trading page and click Connect wallet.
2. Approve the connection in your wallet and switch to Polygon if prompted.
3. On your first visit, sign the terms acceptance message. This is a gasless signature — no fee is charged.

Once connected, your wallet address is shown and you can deposit funds.

Setting Up — Poly Direct Mode

1. Click Connect wallet — MetaMask prompts for connection.
2. Click Activate trading — this creates a Safe wallet for you (gasless, covered by the exchange).
3. Click Generate credentials — one MetaMask signature to set up your trading credentials.
4. Deposit USDC — transfer USDC from your wallet to your Safe wallet.

You are now ready to trade.
