FAQ

General

What is SharkBetX?

A sports betting platform built on Polymarket as an official Polymarket Builder. Your bets are placed with optimized execution, every trade is verifiable on-chain, and settlement is fully automatic.

What is the Polymarket Builder Program?

Polymarket Builders are official partners who build specialized interfaces on top of Polymarket's exchange infrastructure. SharkBetX is a Builder focused on sports betting — providing a purpose-built UI with live scores, real-time odds, and optimized bet execution.

What blockchain does it use?

Polygon Mainnet (chainId 137). All operations use USDC on Polygon.

What is Poly Direct?

Poly Direct is an alternative mode where your funds stay in your own Safe wallet and you trade directly on your Polymarket account. It's useful for trying the SharkBetX interface without committing funds, or if you prefer full manual control over your Polymarket positions. The main SharkBetX experience (Exchange) is recommended for most users — it offers optimized execution and automatic settlement.

Do I need crypto experience?

You need a web3 wallet (e.g. MetaMask) and USDC on Polygon. If you're new to crypto, you can buy USDC on an exchange like Coinbase or Binance and send it to your Polygon wallet.

Funds

Are my funds safe?

Your USDC is protected by smart contracts on Polygon with multiple layers of security:

  • Withdrawal address binding — funds can only be sent back to your wallet
  • Withdrawal locks — open bets reduce only your available balance
  • Atomic settlement — settlement accounting and USDC movement happen together or revert
  • Trading wallet narrowing — released execution funds use the configured Trading Safe path
  • Governance Safe — upgrades are controlled by Safe administration, with implementation-pin checks in the backend

Every deposit and withdrawal is a verifiable blockchain transaction. You can check your balance independently on Polygonscan at any time — see Fund Security and On-Chain Audit for details.

What tokens do I need?

USDC on Polygon for betting. A small amount of POL (formerly MATIC) for gas fees — typically less than $0.01 per transaction.

Why can't I withdraw my full balance?

Funds committed to open bets are not available until those bets settle or you cancel them.

Betting

What sports are available?

Football (soccer), basketball, and other sports. Leagues include Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1, Champions League, NBA, and many more. New leagues are added regularly.

What odds format is used?

Decimal odds. For example, 2.50 means a winning bet returns 2.5x your stake (1.5x profit).

Is there a minimum bet?

Determined by the exchange order book. Typically around 1 USDC.

What does the depth column show?

Depth shows how much liquidity is available at each price level. More depth means your order is more likely to fill quickly at that price.

What happens if a match is postponed?

If the market is voided on the exchange, your bet is cancelled and locked funds are returned.

Can I bet on live matches?

Yes. Live matches show the current score and match period. Odds update in real time. Use FAK (Fill and Kill) orders for instant execution on live events.

What is optimized execution?

When you place a bet, your order is routed through our infrastructure for better fills and reduced slippage. We optimize order placement on the Polymarket CLOB (Central Limit Order Book) to get you the best possible execution. Smart order execution features — including advanced order types — are coming soon.

Commission

When is commission charged?

Only on profitable positions. If your net PnL on an event is zero or negative, no commission is charged. Poly Direct mode has no SharkBetX commission — only standard Polymarket exchange fees apply.

What is the rate?

The commission rate is set per account and locked in when you place the bet.

Verification

Can I verify my bets independently?

Yes. Every bet is logged on-chain with a cryptographic fingerprint. See On-Chain Audit for details.

Where can I see my transaction history?

In the trading interface under Settled bets and Open bets tabs. Every entry includes a link to Polygonscan where you can verify the transaction on-chain.
